Art Impressions Cards

Good morning and Happy Monday, everyone! I decided to take a break from making kits this week and got out some of my Art Impressions Stamps to make a few cards.

I took a class a few weeks ago with Diva Anja and loved the techniques that she showed us using a couple of Art Impressions stamps. I really like the watercolour effect that you can get with these stamps and of course, I always like to bring out my Tim Holtz markers. I used the stamp on the right to make the three cards but I wanted to show you the stamp that I bought following Anja's class.

The stamps are very versatile and can be mixed using images, foliage, flowers, etc. from different Stamp Sets.

Here are the cards that I made (Note: I still have a long way to go in mastering this technique).

Hope you have a great week. Remember that we have three days of Pop-up Shops this week (Oct. 26 - 28) at the KCC. There will be classes, make and takes and crop time available.

Heron Sunset Card Class

Happy Saturday, my fellow crafters! Hope you are all doing well and enjoying your weekend so far!

I will be teaching a class at the Komoka Community Centre on Friday, October 27th at 6:15pm using the Heron and Lake die from Impression Obsession! I love this die - it is so versatile for so many occasions - this card could be used for birthdays (for both guys and gals), sympathy, thinking of you, thank you, and the list goes on! I'll have a variety of sayings that you can add to the inside of the card at the class.

The background of the card is created using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks. These inks are so incredible and blend so smoothly! If you haven't tried these inks yet, come and check them out - you'll be hooked! Finally, we'll glitter up the water with clear Wink of Stella to give it just that little shimmer!

For registration details, please click here.

Thanks for stopping by!

Easy Christmas card!

Happy Friday! Weeks are going so fast....so much to do, so little time, lol!
I have a confession to make...I do not like to make Christmas cards, sigh, I make them but I prefer to make other cards. So this week, I made an easy Christmas card with this stamp set from Kaiserkraft
I simply stamped the one image around my card and the sentiment with versamark  and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder. Then I matted it on ivory, then on gold onto an ivory card base. Might be too simple for you, but I am thinking this will be quick and easy to mass produce, lol!
                                         Happy Crafting, Anja

Trick or Treat Kit and Beauty Kit

Happy Monday, everyone! Today, I wanted to show you two new kits that I have created for SGD. The first kit is using the Doodlebug "Booville" paper. This line is so cute.

Kit # 1

I did a lot of fussy cutting and then used this new die from Lawn Fawn called "Trick or Treat". L
The Frankenstein was created using my Silhouette and then I added these Shape Sprinkles from Doodlebug called "Eye Candy".

The second kit that I made I called "beauty". These papers are from a Bo Bunny Collection called "Serendipity". I thought that this kit would be good for your garden photos or anything spring-related.

I used the I.O. Stamp called Grunge Wash and the Kaiser Craft Die called "Cut-out Textures. I also used T.H. Distress Oxide Ink "Faded Jeans to outline the papers and for the stamp (mentioned above).

So remember that we have three days of our Pop-Up Shops October 26th - 28th at KCC. It is a great time to get caught up on some of your photo stash.

Have a great week.

Recipe Box Class

Hi everyone and happy Saturday! It's always nice to hit that weekend one day sooner after a short week!

I would like to share with you a few pictures from my upcoming Recipe Box class. I've been busy working away creating this cute little recipe box complete with dividers and recipe cards.

I've used the new BoBunny Family Recipes line of paper as well as the adorable Kaisercraft Lucky Dip Wooden Cooking Embellishments to create this project (seriously...who doesn't need tiny gingerbread men and rolling pins!? Aren't they the cutest thing ever?)

My class will take place on Saturday, November 4th from 9:30am-11:30am at the Four Points Sheraton during our retreat weekend. This class is open to both the retreat attendees as well as anyone else who is interested in joining us! Click here for details on how to sign up!

We will also be doing a recipe exchange during the class, so everyone will go home with some great new recipes in their new recipe box! This would make a fabulous Christmas gift for the cooks in your life too!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Penny Black Christmas card!

Happy Friday! The weather here sure has changed, it was nice to be inside and get crafty!
I picked up this new Penny Black stamp, berry speckles and placed it in my Misti. On a piece of bristol smooth paper, I first stamped it with plain water (just a spritz) and then I coloured it section by section with distress ink markers (forest moss, vintage photo and fired brick). I also went in with a damp brush and spread out the colour a bit. The sentiment is from Tim Holtz, watercolor trees, and stamped with versafine green.  Then I took a stamp from this set and inked it up with forest moss distress ink, wiped off the side and stamped  over the whole panel, very lightly. After I was sure all the ink had dried, I took a clarity brush and some fired brick distress ink to go over the whole image.I found some gold pearl paint powder in my stash and put a bit on craft mat, sprayed it with water and splattered on some gold dots, very hard to see in the picture.

October Calendar Class

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I hope that you have all enjoyed some "family" time this weekend. Today, I wanted to share with you a layout that we will be doing on Saturday, October 28 at 10:30 a.m. This class will be held at the Pop-Up Shop at the Komoka Community Center.

For this class, we will be using the Grunge Stamp by I.O. and Ranger's Distress Oxide Ink "Vintage Photo". For the wood accents, we will be using Creative Expressions Metallic Gilding Polish  "Chocolate Bronze" and Nuvo Embellishment Mousse "Mother of Pearl". It is difficult to see in the photo, but they give a lovely sheen to the wood embellishments.

I used a Memory Box Banner Die to give some interest to one of the papers from Carta Bella's "Hello Fall" line.

Remember that we will be having a 3-day Pop-Up Shop from October 26 to 28 with lots of classes and make and takes. Hope to see you there.

Sage and Grace and 49 & Market

Good morning, everyone! Today, I wanted to share with you a kit that I made using papers from Kaiser Craft's "Sage and Grace" Collection and to show you how I used this stamp set from 49 and Market called "Butterflies are Free".

First, I want to show you the papers that I used and explain how I used the paper called "Thoughts". This is the one with the different frames.

Whenever, I have a paper with a lot of sayings on it, I decide which ones will go with the theme of my layout and then I decide how I can use the reverse side of the paper, as well. This was not going to be a Birthday layout so I cut the top part of the paper off and used the reverse side as border strips in the layout.

To figure out my embellishments, I always go by "what the paper tells me". There is a tiny little butterfly on the Journal Card (middle left of the paper above) so I used butterflies (paper and wood) in the layout.

I loved this stamp from 49 and Market, so I stamped the butterflies and the border piece on the back of the Pink Peony paper (far right paper above) and then fussy cut the different pieces.

For the theme of the layout, I used the border strip on the paper "Blush" (left paper above) "These are the best days of our lives". So that is how I go about deciding how to use papers that have many sayings on one paper.

Here is the layout:

Have a great week.

Golden grove roses!

Happy Friday! The other day I picked up this stamp set from Kaiser kraft, it is called golden grove.
I started with the rose stamp in the misti, and inked it up with distress markers, blending out the colour a bit with a wet brush. Repeated this 3 times. Then I sprinkled some colourburst on craft mat, spritzed it with water and with a sponge I dabbed some on the paper. By using a sponge, you have a lot more control, I really like doing it that way. Then I stamped the carte postale stamp over the roses, and also stamped the roses, slightly off, with black versafine again. Matted the panel on black on a brown embossed paper (embossing folder from Tim Holtz).
Hope you like it! Till next time, Anja

Prince and Princess Kits, etc.

Good morning, everyone. Today, I wanted to share with you some of the new kits that I have created for SGD. One of our customers mentioned last week that her granddaughters love the colour "Purple" so that led to this first kit.

I cut out the Crown and the title "Princess" using my Silhouette and used the Creative Expressions "Lavender Glitter Kiss Cosmic Shimmer" to colour the Wood Flower. The papers are from Echo Park "Once Upon a Princess".

I used the same line of papers in this next kit called "Prince".

Finally, this week, I also created this kit called "Family".

I used the Nuvo Mousse "Mother of Pearl" to give the wood key some colour and dimension. The metal embellishments are from my stash and the stamp "Life is a..." is a Penny Black stamp. The papers are from Kaiser Craft "Factory 42" Collection. The film strips are from Tim Holtz.

Have a great week!

Art Impressions card

Happy Friday! This week I was playing with some of my Art Impression stamps and I made this card, very simple and easy to do, I love how it turned out. The sentiment is heat embossed with a deep purple embossing powder, it is from Altenew. With this card, you start by inking up your vine, any one of the AI stamps will do, ink it up and stamp 4 or 5 times, so you get a variety of colour, the same for the flowers and blend it out with a damp brush. It is very relaxing to do and you can't go wrong!!
There are a lot of different sets and you can easily substitute one stamp for another...or if you like them all, like me, well......
Hope you like it! Till next time, Anja

"Love Baseball" Kit

Good morning, everyone! Some of our customers have been asking for Blue Jays Kits. Since everything for the Blue Jays team is copyrighted, I had to come up with something of my own. I used Word Art from MS Word to make the circle "Let's Go Blue Jays" and then inserted the Maple Leaf Graphic. I printed this on Photo Paper.

Since I did not have any baseball paper in my stash, I decided to just use Cardstock on this layout (note the colours of the team) and then I went to my trusty Silhouette Machine and cut out the Double Hearts, the Baseball Player and Silhouette, and the Pocket. I punched out a circle and made it look like a baseball and then added some ribbon, buttons, and puffy stars.

It felt strange not to be using pattern paper in a layout, but sometimes you just have to be "creative"!!

Hope you like this kit.

Of course I added some bling on the wreath and the bottom of my card.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Watercolouring with AI stamps!

Happy Friday! My card was supposed to show up early this morning, I must have done something wrong or Mr. Blogger did not agree with me, lol.
This card is watercoloured the Art Impressions way, with stamps and distress markers, a brush and water, LOVE doing this. After I stamped and coloured the cat, I cut it out and put it on the chair.
There are so many different sets and they all work together nicely. Did you know....there is new ones coming out too.....yup, I pre ordered them! As soon as the new ones are in, I will do a demo at Sheila's pop up store, stay tuned for that!
Happy Crafting! Till next time, Anja

Lilac Whisper Kits

Good morning, everyone! I have been working on a couple of kits for SGD using the paper line "Lilac Whisper" from Kaisercraft. I love the muted lilac and soft green colours of this line. Here are some of the products that I used in both kits.

The first kit is called "Cherish" and would be nice for Wedding photos or Vintage photos. I used the Tall Poppy Right Corner by Memory Box and the Iced Spruce Distress Oxide Ink. The packaging for the Stamp set is buried in my Craft Room and I am sorry that I can't remember it right now.

"Cherish" Kit

The colours of this kit are a soft green but it does not show up well here.

"Memories" Kit

For this kit, I did a lot of fussy cutting. I incorporated some butterflies (not shown) using the Memory Box "Devyn Butterfly Trio" and added some Carnation stamps from the Art Impression Watercolor EZ Project A. We just got a lot of these Art Impression stamps in and they are lovely. Check out the Online Store to see what is available. The stamped words are from 49 and Market called "Gabi's Word Clear Stamp".

Have a good week.

I used oxide distress inks and Tim Holtz's Wildflowers thinlit dies. I will show you the technique I used to do the background. The sentiment is from Hero Arts stamp set called Birthday Messages.

The second card is for Friday Sept 15. I used worn lipstick oxide ink for the background and to watercolour the flower. The sentiment is from Hero Arts called Birthday Messages.  I then used white Nuvo Crystals Drops for the centres of the flowers.

Hope you will join me.
Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Kim
