Delicate silhouettes!

Happy Friday! How I love making cards like this one....flowers, some mixed media...I truly enjoy the whole process.....The front panel of this card is bristol smooth cardstock, I adhered the panel when I was done "playing" with it to a A2 card base.
I started by putting on some Tim Holtz oxide inks with a blender tool, faded jeans and fossiled amber.
Then I spritzed it lightly with water, dabbed with a paper towel, heat dry and repeated the process, I also added a few sprinkles of gamboge colorburst, same process, spray lightly, dab and dry. At last I added a few sprinkles of cadmium scarlet colorburst, same process.
The flowers are from a new Penny Black set, delicate silhouette, I stamped them on with versafine black. On a craft mat,  put some cadmium scarlet colorburst, added some water and with that mixture I painted the flowers red, I also splattered on some dots.
When it was all dry, I added some clear wink of Stella and some Nuvo drops, neptune.
Sentiment is also from the same set. It was a lot of fun making this card!

Have you heard...

of Léa France? Well it is about time you did!!

"Léa France is an American company that produces reusable plastic templates that are used to create an endless possibility of layouts.  These stencils were inspired by the European method of scrapbooking, which is more of a collage style page,
with very little text, and hardly no embellishments.  Since 2009, Léa France has been the exclusive designer and seller of photo layout stencils in the US.  Debbie Pickel officially became the Canadian representative in September 2016."

We are very excited to welcome Debbie Pickel as a Vendor at our National Scrapbooking Day All Day Crop!! She can't wait to introduce this product to us!  Debbie will be on hand to demonstrate the stencils and of course to sell them!  She has also generously donated a door prize for our event as well!  One lucky cropper will win a 2hr private tutorial class for up to 4 people!! Thanks so much Debbie!!

May Calendar Class

Good morning, and Happy Monday! Today, I wanted to show you the layout for the May Calendar Class. I used these papers from Kaisercraft's Cherry Tree Lane Collection. I wanted to create a layout that you could use for your Garden Photos or your Mother's Day Photos. I added these butterflies from Prima and used this stamp from Impression Obsession as well as the Heart String Die from Memory Box. To make the Bird Cage (lower right hand corner on page 2), I used these Distress Crayons and the Woodgrain Cardstock pictured below. Then I added some of the Ranger "Vintage" Distress Collage Medium to age the look of the Bird Cage.

The date for this class is Saturday, May 6 at 12:30 p.m. This is National Scrapbooking Day and we will be at the Komoka Community Center in the Gym. It promises to be an exciting day with lots of classes, cropping and good food. Hope you can join us for a class or the crop or both.

Have a great week, everyone!

Colourblock #2

Good Morning Everyone,

Want to share with you a card I made with the Colorblock # 2 die from Frantic Stampers. I love that I can make so many variations of a card by just cutting out different colours of card stock or designer papers. I embossed the back piece with a daisy embossing folder I had, thought this would give more dimension to the card. Then to back the colorblock cut out,  I used a vellum paper that had polka dots on it. You also get the words Hello and Congrats with this die set.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Altenew Thank you!

Happy Friday! Sharing another Altenew card with you, I can not get the picture right, very frustating, believe me, IN REAL LIFE, this card has soft colours and sparkle...
The stamps I used are from this set, lovely flowers, leaves and different sentiments
I started by making a background with Tim Holtz oxide inks, faded jeans and iced spruce, I used an old Prima stencil and spritzed, dabbed, played and let those new inks do their job!!
The sentiment is heat embossed in silver, the leaves are stamped with memento gray flannel ink and the flowers were embossed on a separate piece of paper, coloured with the oxide inks and cut out, after they were dry. For sparkle, I added the wink of Stella pen. Some Nuvo drops, how can you make a card with no Nuvo drops?? This sample will be on display, you should really see this in person, lol!
                               Till next time, Anja

"My Dad" Layout

Good morning, everyone! We recently got this new line in from Authentique called "Rugged". The navy and brown colours are suitable for a masculine layout. I have used these photos on a layout before but thought that the baseball theme of the paper would be perfect for the photos. The paper also includes the themes of cars, trucks, tools, etc.

I love using the Sticker Sheets in a collection because they make it so easy to finish off the layout. I distressed and inked the edges of the paper, added some chipboard from my stash and some wooden buttons and I was done. Hope you like the layout.

Have a great week.

Soft watercoloured thank you card!

Happy Friday! Do you love the look of watercoloured cards? Did you know how easy it is to get that look with the stamps from Art Impressions?
They recently came out with some new additions to this line, and I pre ordered some from Sheila.
It is really easy, I work on watercolour paper, ink up the stamps with Distress ink markers or any other water based marker. You stamp your image, and then with a damp brush you softly blend out the lines. For the flowers, after you put the marker on,  you stamp like 3 or 4 times before re inking so you get a variation in colour. It is very easy and relaxing and you can't go wrong! After my card dried, I put some tumbled glass and peeled paint distress ink on with the foam blenders. The little butterflies are from a punch. The sentiment is from 49 Market, Gabi's word stamp
Some twine, score lines and Nuvo drops to finish the card, I used the colour neptune from Nuvo, lovely colour that goes well with pretty much every thing!
Hope you like it! Till next time, Anja

New Kits

Happy Monday, everyone! Today, I wanted to share with you two new kits that I created using papers from a Prima Kit by Frank Garcia called "Wild and Free". As always, the vintage look of these papers inspired me. I did some fussy cutting but mostly just let the papers "speak to me". The first kit is called "Sweet". I cut out a doily from a Prima Doily die that I had and added some gems and wooden roses.

For the second kit (I am still thinking of a title), I added some Chipboard Lattice and a vintage metal key from Prima.

I still want to add a title to the top of the second page.

Have a great week!

Good Morning Everyone,

Want to share with you a card I made with the new Cherry Blossom embossing folder from Taylor Expression, designer paper from Kaiser Craft called Hanami Garden Collection and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink from Tim Holtz. The sentiment is from Penny Black's Heartfelt stamp collection. To put the ink on my embossed areas I used a foam ink pod from Darcie, this really helps to put the ink on smoothly. Of course I had to had the bling.

Lavender butterfly!

Happy Friday! It's Spring, right? That is what the calendar says anyway...
Sharing a card with you today in Spring colours. iced spruce, worn lipstick and shaded lilac (Tim Holtz distress ink colours).
I started this card with a piece of Neenah cardstock, 5 1/4 x 3, and stamped the floral fantasy background stamp from MFT on it with versamark, then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. With foam blender tools, I put on the 3 colours of distress inks.
The lavender butterfly die was run through the cuttlebug twice, once with green paper and once with Neenah ( I cut the butterfly out and put some iced spruce ink on it).
The sentiment is done on a white strip of paper, heat embossed in white and then I put on the iced spruce ink again, it is also popped up. A half inch strip of green on the right and some Nuvo neptune drops on the butterflies to finish this card off.
Hope you like it, till next time, Anja

Inspiration with Art Alchemy Waxes!

Happy Wednesday everyone!    When I got my order of Prima Art Alchemy Waxes I had to play with them - even though I was sorting for the Garage Sale that is coming up this weekend.  I didn't have time to start from scratch so I pulled out this little 6x6 chipboard piece that I had made a couple of years ago. With my finger, I added the Antique Brilliance Wax - Mystic Turquoise, on the chipboard around the raised parts, and in the crevices of the metal pieces.  LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! I am still waiting on a couple more of the waxes that I might just have to add some more colours to this piece!! Can't wait to play some more and create a new piece!

One-page layout

Good morning, everyone. In my scrapbooking, I rarely do one-page layouts. However, sometimes you have only one photo of a specific moment or event. I had two photos of my grandson playing with his lego blocks and neither photo was that great. One was blurry (so I discarded that one) and the other one had two much other "stuff" in the photo.

Luckily, I had this Decorative Die from Kaisercraft called "Circle Scribble. I cut my photo in a circle, getting rid of all the extras that I didn't want in the photo and then used the circle scribble die as a mat. I had this Photo Play kit called "My Imagination". There are papers in the collection which focus on lego, dinosaurs, and robots. The colours are so bright and the themes are perfect for our little guy who is in to dinosaurs and lego.

I used some of the stickers from the kit, a stamp from Lawn Fawn called "Chevron Backdrops" and some of my Ranger Enamel Accents. I love to use these to create my own enamel-like dots.

How I love my flowers...

Happy Friday! I could not resist and make another Altenew flower card.....For this card I have used the Hibiscus set .  I inked up the flower part of the stamp with seedless preserve distress ink and the leaves with peeled paint. With a damp brush I softened the lines and coloured the leaves and flowers in, there was enough ink from the lines to do that. You get a soft watercolour look, I also splattered some ink on. The sentiment is Script from Brutus Monroe. As an accent I added some black dots and sequinces. Hope you like it! Till next time, Anja
