Feel better soon!

Happy Friday! My card today is stamped with the beautiful set Bamboo Roses from Altenew.
I heat embossed some of the roses, the sentiment and the butterfly from this set with gold embossing powder on watercolour paper. Even after running your embossing buddy over the paper first, on watercolour paper you will get some stray dots of embossing powder which I actually don't mind on a card like this. In the end, I added some splatters anyway, lol!
The roses are watercoloured with lots of water and distress inks, shabby shutter, peeled paint, barn door, seedless preserves and picked raspberry (I put some ink on an acrylic block). I started by wetting the area with lots of water and then dropped some colour in it, letting the water do the job,
After it was dry, I went around with a wet brush and some diluted seedless preserves.
The panel is matted on a piece of gold mirri board and then mounted on a pearl card base.
Oh, and of course I had to add some gold Viva drops!
Hope you like it! Till next time, Anja

Karen Ellis was "in the house"!!

We were so fortunate to have the one and only Karen Ellis from The Art House Studio in Cambridge teaching at Scrappin' Great Deals last Saturday!!  Her enthusiasm was infectious!! We had a lovely time and can't wait for her to come back!

We spent the entire day playing with paint and gel plates, creating our own papers;
We then took our papers and began creating flowers and making a collage on a canvas;  the day flew by!!

Here is my masterpiece!  I used my Dylusion paints for the gel plate papers, and to create the background on the canvas.  I love the bright colours but I also used some white to tone down the background.

Thanks again Karen, we had an amazing day!!

Christmas Tags

Happy Monday! Today, I am sharing with you a class that I have coming up ...Tuesday, November 15 from 10 a.m. until noon. I used the papers from the Authentique "Classic Christmas" Collection.
Please join me to put together 10 Tags that you can use on those special presents.

I used a Scallop Punch and a Circle Punch on most of the tags and then decorated each one with embellishments, Crystal Lacquer, or Die Cuts from Memory Box and Impression Obsession.

Hope to see you at the class. There will be no kits for this class.

Technique Tuesday/Wonderful Wednesday

Good Morning Everyone.

This week I will be doing Technique Tuesday and Wonderful Wednesday. The first card is for Tuesday. I will be teaching you how to use your sentiments as a background on your cards. Using the Misti helps a lot with this technique. I got my inspiration from Jennifer McGuire, she makes it looks so easy. Check out her video here. I am using the new stamp from Altnew called Bamboo Rose.

The second card is for Wednesday. I thought I should do a Halloween card since Halloween is just around the corner. I thought using Tim Holtz crazy cats was fitting for this card. I heat embossed the cat with black embossing powder. The back ground paper is from Carta Bella called Haunted. I used 3D Crystal Lacquer for the eyes. This makes them pop. But I think using googly eyes would be better. Less mess.

Hope to see you this week. Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Color Burst, Impression Obsession and Jeanne Streiff!

Wanted to share this awesome card by honorary Diva Jeanne Streiff! We love Jeanne's work! Here she has used some of Ken Oliver's Color Burst products to create a great background. Then she used an adorable bat from the Impression Obsession stamp set Bats about you available now on pre-order!

Love this!
Have you made any Halloween cards this year?

Cheers, Andrea

Another Christmas card...

Happy Friday! I am slowly working on some Christmas cards...and today I am sharing another one with you. Somewhere I saw where someone used paste through a stencil, for this card I used a Tim Holtz stencil, and while the paste was still wet, you sprinkle glitter on top. Then you have to let it dry...not with your heat gun as you might get bubbels. The sentiment is from Memory Box, Christmas Botanicals, and I stamped it on a label that I cut with my Cameo, a bow and mounted on silver mirri board, and voila another card done.
                                        Till next time, Anja
